Brunello di Montalcino
DOCG
Brunello is a red wine of great power and elegance, the ultimate expression of Sangiovese. In Montalcino it is characterized by its reddish-brown colour and intense aromas and flavours.
At San Polo, the Allegrini estate in Montalcino, our Brunello is the fruit of tremendous love and respect for the land and a wine based on strong ethics, quality, and sustainability.
Climate trend
The 2008 harvest was carried out in ideal weather conditions. After a rather wet but not particularly cold winter, spring was quite normal, both in terms of temperatures and rainfall. Intervals of rain continued until mid-June, while higher temperatures in June and July alternated with cooler temperatures and further showers.

Wine Spectator
At this young stage, the 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is heavily imprinted by oak that needs more months of bottle aging before it finds a deeper level of integration. Aromas of exotic spice, Spanish cedar and sandalwood will move to the background as characteristic tones of dark fruit and balsam herb move forward. That latter set of aromas is already brewing steadily off sides, just waiting to move into the spotlight. This is a tight and masculine expression with a lively garnet-ruby color and delicate touches of plump cherry sweetness woven into the finish. The wine is at its infancy: Give it five year or more to complete its initial evolution. Drink: 2017-2025.Wine Enthusiast

Ripe cherry, currant and licorice flavors show accents of leather and tobacco. Elegant, yet firm and dense, coming together on the lingering, savory aftertaste. Best from 2015 through 2027. 4,200 cases made.Guida Oro i Vini di Veronelli
