The first vineyard you encounter when visiting San Polo. The stone at the entrance is the symbol of the estate and its respect for the environment.

This magnificent vineyard is the most variable on the estate. The grapes that come to life in these rows surprise us each year and distinguish the characteristics of each harvest. We have carefully studied the vineyard’s response to each year’s weather conditions, however we prefer to let its high-quality expression remain natural. We like to define this vineyard as "moody", it is slightly sloped in the first section and its soil is rich in clay and good at retaining water. As the hill becomes steeper, the soil becomes stony and poor; the vines’ vigour is less abundant, and the grapes are more concentrated. The Sasso vineyard is also very picturesque and the perfect location for hosting a tasting or aperitivo. At its highest point, where there’s always a pleasant breeze, you can see Montalcino, a scene which reminds us of the significance and history of the magical place in which we find ourselves.
